Baptism

Baptism in the Benefice of West Wycombe (St Lawrence and St Pauls West Wycombe, St Botolph Bradenham, St Pauls Bledlow Ridge and St Mary's Radnage)

Anyone can get in touch with a church to find about having their child baptised or christened as it is often known. During a baptism your child will be baptized with water. It’s the start of an amazing journey of faith for your child and a special day for all your friends and family. Adults can also be baptised and it is a wonderful public expression of their faith.

An important part of the baptism service involves including the child (or adult) into the community of faith. As such it is important that other church members are present at the service and so we conduct baptisms in the regular Sunday services. We normally have specific Sunday services in which baptisms take place. There is no fee for a baptism in the church service.

In very exceptional circumstances, according to the discretion of the clergy, you may be able to hold a separate service in which case you will be expected to pay for a verger and an organist at the service

If you wish to be baptised yourself or have your child baptised please contact a member of the clergy team
