Archdeacon's Visitation 2025

St Paternus Church, North Petherwin was delighted to host the Archdeacon's Visitation on Monday evening, 9th June. This service covered the two deaneries of Stratton and Trigg Major. The church bells rang out to greet people as they arrived.

During this service, The Archdeacon, Kelly Betteridge, asked all Churchwardens from across both deaneries, to stand and say the oaths of office together. Following this, the Archdeacon then asked all those who were retiring from the role of Churchwarden to stand, and Kelly expressed deep and sincere gratitude for all that they had done whilst in post. Readings and prayers were led by the Rural Deans of each deanery, Revd Rob Dickenson and Revd Lynda Barley. It was a wonderful service and the hymns were sung with gusto, led by Constance Wade on the organ.

After the service, refreshments were served in the Parish Hall, and those attending were able to look at various information stands put on by Diocesan Representatives. It was an opportunity to meet old friends and make new friends alike.

Thanks to all who helped make this a very enjoyable service and occasion.

Ray Harvey & Helen Uglow,

North Petherwin Churchwardens
