With the candlelit church looking resplendent with beautiful flower arrangements, sheaves of corn and an intricately designed harvest loaf placed at the altar, our annual Friday evening Harvest Festival Service this year was well attended, with many from our farming community forming part of the congregation.
A well chosen selection of seasonal hymns and appropriate prayers and Bible readings were enjoyed by all those in attendance, who were also presented with an interesting talk about the Launceston Agricultural Show by its current President, Martin Stanbury.
A tempting selection of food was enjoyed by all who stayed after the service for the Harvest Supper, giving the opportunity for friendly and cheerful fellowship.
The large amount of food donations received at this year's Harvest Festival celebrations were passed on to the Launceston Food Bank, who do a splendid job in helping those in need within our wider community.
A huge thank you is due to all those who worked so hard in organising this year's celebrations, to those who generously provided and presented the food and drinks for the Harvest Supper and to those who made the church look so beautiful with the flower and harvest arrangements.
A collage of photos showing many of these arrangements is attached for downloading and printing, should you wish to keep a permanent record.
