As Summer approaches many of us will be visiting garden centres. Some suggestions that will help us make better choices are:
🍀 Buy peat free compost. Most compost is these days but always worth a check.
🌹Read the label on the plant. Was it grown in the UK? Many smaller, local nurseries grow their own plants thus reducing air miles. Plants grown locally will also be adapted to local weather conditions.
🌺 Is the plant good for insects, butterflies and the bees? Plants with open flowers and not many petals are easier for them to get the nectar and pollen.
