Flowers in church

We have had a group of people who arrange flowers in church for many years. The only time we do not have flowers in church is during Lent. We are also a member of The Church of England Flower Arrangers Association. We are a no foam church ensuring we do not use plastic based foam in arrangements. We arrange in vases and also use eco friendly reusable moss and chicken wire in arrangements. We follow the Sustainable Church Flowers Organisation principles. The Advent wreaths in church and at St Margaret’s Hall for the last couple of years were made with Methley foliage and berries and using eco friendly materials.

Flowers are chosen to reflect the seasons and the Church calendar and are are sourced as sustainably as possible using British grown flowers and flowers from local gardens and allotments. We always have special arrangements at Easter, Pentecost, Harvest and Christmas. For couples planning your wedding at St.Oswald’s please open the attached file below Church Wedding Flowers.

If you would like to get involved with church flower arranging please message Jackie Davis via Get in touch on the website.

No flower arranging experience is needed and training will be provided. You would be very welcome.
