Fresh Gravel Laid in Cremation Area Thanks to Volunteers

Work has continued in the cremation area by the south porch, where Steve and John have now completed the next stage of improvements by laying a fresh layer of gravel. The work follows recent weeding and has helped to tidy and refresh this important area of the churchyard.

The project is just one example of the ongoing care and attention given to the church grounds by our dedicated team of volunteers. Throughout the year, volunteers give their time and energy to help maintain the churchyard, ensuring it remains a welcoming, peaceful and respectful place for visitors, parishioners and those coming to remember loved ones.

Churchyards require regular maintenance in every season, but the summer months can be particularly demanding as grass, weeds and vegetation grow rapidly. The efforts of our volunteers play a vital role in keeping the grounds looking their best and preserving the special character of the churchyard.

We would like to offer our sincere thanks to Steve and John for their hard work on this latest project, and to all those who regularly help with churchyard maintenance. Their commitment and support are greatly appreciated by the whole church community.

We are always keen to welcome new volunteers to join the churchyard team. Whether you can spare an hour occasionally or help more regularly, any assistance is valued. Extra help is especially welcome during the summer growing season when there is plenty of work to be done. If you would like to get involved, please speak to with Peter Bloodworth who organises the churchyard gang, always there Saturday mornings, weather permitting, or please message via Get in touch.
