Bellringing

There are eight bells at Hurst rung from a ground floor ringing chamber. The oldest bells date back to the 1600s.

We practice on Monday evenings from 7.45 to 9pm and ring on most Sundays from 10.30 to 11am before the service.  We also ring for weddings and other special occasions.

Ringers of all experience are welcome to join us. We are often joined by ringers from Twyford, the other band in our benefice, and we regularly join them on Friday evening too.

We are a friendly group, often extending ringing evenings by a trip to "The Castle" opposite the church for a drink or two. We also arrange outings to other churches, often as a benefice, and join in local deanery ringing events.

The tower is affiliated to the Oxford Diocesan Guild of Bellringers. The Sonning Deanery  website can be found at http://odg.org.uk/sdb/ for more information about local ringing events.
