Church of England Diocese of Canterbury Dover Castle ex. Par

St. Mary in Castro, Dover Castle

Seen by hundreds of thousands of visitors each year as they tour Dover Castle, St. Mary in Castro is, first and foremost, a working place of worship. Services are usually at 10am every Sunday, normally Holy Communion, with Sung Matins on the second Sunday of each month

The Church is open for Sunday Services, regular members of the congregation have cards to identify themselves to English Heritage staff.
Due to the reduction in capacity in the church due to social distancing anyone who is not a regular attender who wants come should contact one of the Church Wardens beforehand.

The Church is not open at any other time.

PLEASE SEE 'ABOUT US' PAGE AND  'SERVICE & EVENTS' FOR DETAILS OF COMING SERVICES

Once the local Garrison church, it is now an Extra-parochial Church in Canterbury Diocese, but it still keeps a military ethos. All services are open to everyone, if attending worship, an entry ticket from English Heritage is not required.  The church is inside the Castle grounds and, from its Saxon beginnings, has served garrisons within the castle and in the surrounding area.
