Weddings at St Mary in the Castle Dover are administered by the faculty office of the Archbishop of Canterbury in Westminister. Permission for marriages is given by Special Licence and THERE ARE SPECIFIC CRITERIA which apply to St Mary in the Castle:
1) One or both parties were serving soldiers and members of the Dover and Shorncliffe Garrison,
prior to December 2014
2) One or both parties works for English Heritage in Dover Castle
3) In exceptional circumstances, a Special Licence can be granted to a member of the congregation of St Mary in the Castle. This will only be considered after one year to 18 months regular and continuous attendance at divine worship in the church.
THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS TO THIS.
