Church Open for Private Prayer

Every Saturday at 10 a.m. for 2hr

Hinckley Road
Leicester Forest East
Leicester

Following a full risk assessment and in accordance with UK Government and Church of England Guidance, St. Andrew's will be open to the public for private prayer on Saturdays 10am-12pm from 27th June. We will also be able to hold funerals from this date. The church building and hall remain closed for all other purposes, including corporate worship, until further notice.
Please note that "private prayer" means coming into the church to pray alone or with other members of your household / support bubble. There will be no led prayers or worship, however printed prayer resources to use and take away will be available and there will be some audio-visual prayer reflections to engage with. There will be opportunity to light a prayer candle and post written prayers on a prayer board. We regret we are unable to provide Bibles or prayer books - please bring these with you if you would like to use them in your prayers.
If you do wish to come to the church for private prayer, you will be greeted with a socially distanced welcome from one of our church volunteers, and asked to use a hand sanitizing station. There will be a marked one-way route around the church, with pew cushions marking the places in the church you can sit and pray whilst remaining socially distanced. There will also be a prayer board you can post written prayers on and the opportunity to light a candle (please make sure your hands are dry from hand sanitizer before lighting a candle, as many sanitizers are alcohol-based).
We are delighted to be able to make the church building available to our community for personal prayer! However we will need to close the church on short notice should national or local guidance change or there be a suspected COVID19 contamination of the building. Should this occur, please accept our apologies for any disappointment, as the health and safety of our volunteers and all in our community will remain our top priority at all times.
