Midweek communion in North Chapel
This Lent course is being hosted by St Mary's. This is open to the rest of the Team and ecumenically within Saffron Walden.
Being a faithful Christian in a diverse Church during changing and challenging times is not easy. The temptation is to withdraw into a "holy huddle", pull up the drawbridge, and turn our backs on the world outside. Through a series of reflections, using Lectio Divina, we will be considering how we might better be the people of God together and live out our faith. This course is taken from the Chelmsford Diocesan resources for "Travelling Well Together" and comes with Bishop Guli's recommendation.

Quiet service with Taize chants and prayers
4 pm in winter, 6.30 pm in summer
There will be an opportunity to Pray for Peace in the Middle East in St Mary's Church between 10.30am and 4pm on market day, Tuesday 24th March.
There will be a short reflective service in the North Chapel led by the Rev’d Lynda Sebbage, Team Vicar, at 11am as the situation in the Middle East is lifted to God. Otherwise, the North Chapel will be available as a quiet, open space for prayer, reflection and hope for anyone wishing to come in and out. There will be some prayer stations that highlight the key prayer needs and people will have a chance to write a prayer for peace and leave it in the chapel, or on a prayer tree onto which prayers can be hung.
All are welcome to come and go throughout the day.

Midweek communion in North Chapel
A time of Silent Prayer at 10am on the first Thursday of each month. This takes place in the North Chapel and starts with a short reading and stilling exercise, followed by 20 minutes of silence and concluding with the Lord’s Prayer.
Holy Communion with washing of hands
Starting from URC Abbey Lane and walking to St Mary's Church
Meditations and hymns.
Easter morning. Traditionally held outside the church, weather permitting. Followed by breakfast.

A more informal celebration of Holy Communion, giving us a chance to try new things. During this time our children’s group, Team JC, meets nearby in the Parish Rooms and joins us just before we receive communion. The service lasts about an hour and a quarter and refreshments are served.
