2020 Confirmation took place before Coronavirus lockdown.

St Barnabas Woodford has set a goal to have a Confirmation every year. As an act of faith, the Vicar, Fr William Obedoza SSC, contacted the Bishop's office to book a date in advance. This means that the Bishop's PA has to find a suitable date when the bishop is available. One can understand and appreciate the number of churches under the bishop's pastoral care. Bishop Norman Banks SSC is the Provincial Episcopal Visitor of 14 Dioceses: Canterbury, Chelmsford, Ely, Europe, Guildford, Leicester, Lincoln, Norwich, Peterborough, Portsmouth, Rochester, St Albans, St Edmundsbury and Ipswich, Winchester.

It is a blessing for St Barnabas to be visited by out Bishop Norman on 15th March 2020 at 9:30 am Sunday. As part of the safety measure against COVID-19 the bishop washed and sanitised his hands after anointing each candidate with the holy oil of Chrism. We are indeed blessed to be the last one before the Church of England suspended all Confirmations.
