Church of England Diocese of Chelmsford St. Barnabas, Woodford

09. Mercy Ministry (Food Bank)

We run a small Mercy Ministry food bank from the Vicarage to help those in need of food. However, I am being asked more often these days for food than in the past. So that we may help those in need who live locally/in the parish, we have set up our own small food bank here in the church for donations. We would be very thankful for your help you may be able to give.

The donations can be placed in the boxes located inside the south section of the church. Unfortunately, we cannot receive fresh items due to short sell-by dates and lack of fresh food storage facilities, but should be very grateful to receive any of the following items:

Long Life Milk, Sugar, Tea, Coffee, Soft drinks, Soup (tinned or packet), Canned food with ring top pulls, Cereal, Biscuits, Crisps, Toiletries (including toothbrushes, items for shaving and sanitary items), Washing up liquid, Laundry detergent, Loo rolls.

Donations for St. Barnabas food bank are most welcome and may be made inside the church before or after daily services, from 8:00 am to 10:00 am daily.
