Children are always welcome at St John's. We love welcoming them into church and there are lots of occasions that our worship is particularly designed with children in mind.

You are welcome to bring your children with you. Don't worry if they make noise - it's not something we worry about! You can also find details of our Safeguarding Policy online if you would like to read it.

ABC Church

Every Sunday morning at 9:30am we have an ABC Church service. It stands for Adults with Babies and Children and the worship is designed with the needs of the youngest members of our church most in mind. There will be songs for the children to sing, bible stories to listen to and craft activities to keep everyone busy. It's all fairly informal and good fun. After the service we stay in church to chat over tea and toast.

Sunday School

There is a Sunday School during term time at our 10:30am service of Family Worship. Families arrive at church together and after our first hymn we pray for the children as they head off to their own group in the church hall. They'll enjoy bible stories and an activity before returning to join us before the end of the service to share with us what they have been learning.

Creche Room

If you feel your child is too young for Sunday School we have space in a side room in the main church where the floor is carpeted and there are some toys to play with to keep children amused during the service. It's best to stay with your child in the room if they are too young to be left alone.

Summer Holiday Club

In the summer we run a holiday club in church which usually takes place in the first week of the break in July. Children can join us each morning for a week of activities which are linked by a common theme. There are bible stories, songs and crafts. It's usually aimed at primary school aged children.

School Visits

We have good links with all our primary schools in Farsley. Our vicar regularly visits the schools and visits are also organised for children to come into St John's. The church regularly hosts harvest festivals and carol services for our village schools and we like to get children from the village involved in decorating the church for Christmas.
