At St Julian's, there is a service of Holy Communion every Sunday at 9:30: it lasts about an hour and is followed by coffee and chat in the church hall. There are usually four hymns and readings from the Bible, with a sermon built around and developing one or more of the readings. Tots and Teddies runs for 90 minutes every Wednesday (except in school half terms, Easter and Christmas). Children from 0 to 4 are very welcome, with their carers. Every Thursday at 9:15 there is a short service of morning prayer. Also on Thursdays there is a Community Cafe serving hot drinks and cakes from 10:30: this is followed at 12:15 by a service of Holy Communion.

Lent course

Occurring
Every Sunday at for 1 hour, 30 mins
Venue
St Julian's Church
Address
St Julian's Church, 3 Abbot's Avenue St Albans, AL1 2HY

The course has been designed by the organisation Inclusive Church. As we journey through Lent towards Easter, we are drawn again to the radical and inclusive welcome that Jesus offers to all at the Lord’s table. This course invites us to explore who we are as a church, what it truly means to welcome all, and how we might embody the radical welcome Jesus shows throughout the Gospels.
The sessions are interactive and accessible to everyone. No prior knowledge or particular skills are needed, just a willingness to come along, listen, reflect, and participate. The first session will include an afternoon tea as part of extending that welcome to one another.
If you’re unable to attend every session, please don’t let that stop you, come along to as many as you can. You will be very welcome.
Do join us as we seek to grow in our understanding of what it means to welcome as Jesus did, and to extend that welcome more fully into our community.
Please register by email at [email protected] or on the sign up sheet available in each church.

Tots & Teddies

Occurring
Every Wednesday at for 1 hour, 30 mins
Venue
St Julian's
Address
3, Abbott's Avenue St. Albans, AL1 2HY, United Kingdom

Service with a story, worship and activities for pre-school children and their carers. There are big push-along toys and big mats for babies. We serve tea, coffee, juice and a snack for the children. Carers bring the snacks (on a rota) - usually one will bring something savoury, one something sweet and one some fruit.
We usually meet in school holidays, often with slightly older children too. Sometimes in Summer Tots there are just informal craft activities and snacks. We don't meet at half-terms (so not on 18th February) or during the Christmas and Easter holidays.
There is more information on the Tots & Teddies page (under 'About Us'): this includes important information about safe use of images.
