An old village Church - in the centre of our community and for our community. We have a reputation for offering a very friendly welcome to all.
We are an 'open church'. Our door is never locked. We also have a toilet and a small kitchenette where you will find tea/coffee/milk/sugar \- please feel free to use the facilities.
There are services in our church building most Sundays. If no services at Great Salkeld there will be one in a nearby church in our group-at Lazonby or Kirkoswald. Visit the 'Services and Events' page of this website to see details of these, We also have Friday morning prayers of blessing for our community- in the churchyard in good weather, or on Zoom if raining: contact Peter Pickthall for details. Our church building is still open for private prayer daily from 9am. to 5pm. in summer months and 9am. to 3pm. during winter months- changeover at same time as clocks change. As the door is locked and unlocked by volunteers, please bear with us if these times sometimes vary. Please feel free to contact one of our churchwardens or Rev. Katharine Butterfield if you need to.
