Your PCC

St James Church is managed through the PCC - the Parochial Church Council.

This is made up of the incumbent, churchwardens and members of the congregation who are elected to serve on a rolling three year basis.

There are a number of officials - chairperson, deputy chairperson, secretary, treasurer, safeguarding officers and electoral roll officer - who take part in PCC meetings alongside the elected members.

The PCC meets around six times a year, to consider issues including:

The format and frequency of regular and occasional services

Care and repair of the church buildings

Governance through managing the parish's finances

Fund-raising

...and the general running of the church and hall..

As well as the ordinary meetings, an annual meeting is held in April/May when elections are held.

Anyone can be nominated to be elected to the PCC, provided they are on the electoral roll.

All posts are carried out on a voluntary basis and all members of the PC have to comply with DBS checks and the relevant safeguarding training.
