The fund has been used by St Mary Magdalene Church to buy food and supermarket vouchers for families in need to be distributed is our partner organisation Glenroyd House community pantry.
Church has created a healthy and nutritious 3 course Christmas Lunch menu for 10 families. These Christmas lunch hampers will be offered to local people on low incomes who need a bit of support this Christmas. The mini grant is The Second Course on the Menu to The Food Summit that challenges churches to go beyond a foodbank.
The Christmas lunch meal supplied includes - a starter of soup and bread; main meal of vegetables, yorkshire pudding, stuffing, gravy, cranberry sauce, their own choice meat, fish or vegetarian dish using the supermarket voucher; dessert of Christmas pudding, custard and drinks including - apple juice, milk, tea and coffee.
