Benefice of Derwent Valley
The new 'Derwent Valley Team has been created covering the former benefices of Medomsley, Ebchester, Hamsterley, Leadgate, Consett, Benfieldside and Castleside. The scheme involves the dissolution of the benefice of Medomsley, St Mary Magdalene and others in the West of Lanchester Deanery and the formation of a new multi - Benefice and establishment of a new team ministry. The Church Commissioners have approved the new Pastoral Scheme.
A half day event is planned to create to merge parish profiles, work together more and to discuss services and rotas.
