Accessibility

There is no toilet in the church, but a public toilet is available in the adjacent village hall during after-church coffee and special events.

There is usually adequate on-street parking adjacent to the church. Additional parking is available in a car park across the bridge on the A689 east of the church. Take the left turn immediately after crossing the bridge.

A public telephone is available outside the Village Hall immediately adjacent to the church.

There is a defibrillator available outside the Village Hall immediately adjacent to the church.

There is a pair of portable ramps inside the entrance vestibule which may be put in place to allow wheelchair access up the one step at the church entrance.

Large print service bulletins are usually available.

Music and Worship

Hymn singing at services is accompanied by the church's 1915 Nelson & Co. pipe organ, which is listed on the National Pipe Organ Register.

Groups, Courses and Activities

Coffee, tea, biscuits and conversation are usually provided in the adjacent village hall following Sunday services.


Help for Visitors

Copies of the church registers are available in the nave.

The church is open most days, though occasionally this may not be possible. If the church is locked a key may be obtained by calling Heather Ross 01388 537439 or Jim Bowen 01388 537218.

The village of Cowshill and its immediate environs are in a conservation area, all within the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
