Giving to St Martin's Church

We are committed to providing a home for our worshipping community and the wider community in our church building and hall. We also want to engage with our local community in a variety of ways, transforming lives and helping the vulnerable. However, this all costs money. Churches do not receive any government, tax-payer, statutory funding or regular financial support - everything is paid for by members of our congregation and others who give regularly and faithfully to support our life, by fees charged for funerals and weddings, from rental of rooms in our building by other groups and organisations, by fundraising.

We are very grateful to all who support our life in any way - with their time, talents, and their financial giving.

Like other registered charities, we are able to claim Gift Aid refunds on donations made to us, and we seek grant funding from charities for major expenses wherever possible. Our regular expenses include the upkeep of our church building, paying our contribution to the Diocese of Manchester (towards the cost of our vicar and other administrative costs) as well as projects that we are involved in locally.

We believe in a generous God, a God who gave us everything we could ever need and our response to this is to be generous ourselves. As a parish, we support and give to other charitable causes as we are able to do so.

If you would like to support us financially, either regularly or as a one-off donation, we've made it easy for you to do this in a number of ways.
