Encountering God - belief, prayer and worship

We want our church to be a place where God is encountered and for us to be people who love and serve the Lord.

Our Sunday morning service is at 10.45am each Sunday except for the first Sunday in each month when it will be 2.30pm. You will meet a friendly group of people who gather together to worship God using one of the regular services of the Church of England. We sing both traditional hymns and some more contemporary songs, listen to the Bible and hear the word of God explained and we pray for ourselves, for others and for our world. We always celebrate Holy Communion at this service, when we remember Jesus by sharing bread and wine together. Usually on the first and third Sunday of the month, our service is aimed at people of all ages.

At the moment we are not able to run our Sunday School, but children and young people are warmly welcomed at St Martin's.  As a symbol of our commitment to this welcome, we admit children to Communion before Confirmation.

We have occasional services on Sunday evenings and on special Holy Days - look out for details of these on our Services and Events page.
