St. Mary's Church & Community Food Bank

What began as a 3 month project over the winter months of 2011 has now grown into a 3 times a week emergency food provision service for the Tameside Community. A team of fantastic volunteers and admin run our independent Food Bank from St. Mary's Church Centre, Meadow Lane, Haughton Green M34 7GD, providing basic food parcels for families and individuals who are experiencing food poverty. All our food is donated by churches, groups and individuals who, week by week, ensure that local people in our community have enough to eat.

TO BOOK A FOOD PARCEL, please phone or text the Food Bank number on 07479256785

We are open 3 times a week on Monday, Tuesday & Friday 2-4pm. For food parcel collection, you will be given a timeslot upon booking, this will be between 3-4pm. All food parcels must be pre-booked via the number above, we cannot accept any referrals by email or contacting through the Facebook page!

Referrals: If you are in need of a food parcel, you can be referred by most agencies, schools, GP, social services, housing associations, debt charities, support agencies or you can self refer, bringing proof of ID of name and address for all those who need food and documentation referring to the need. i.e. low income, tax credit letter etc. Please get in touch if you are unsure of the necessary identification. Food cannot be given out without this evidence if you are self-referring. To book your parcel, you must call 07479256785

Please be aware that due to how busy we are with the number of requests we receive each week (versus how much food/stock we have), we have a one parcel per month limit per referral.

Donations: If you would like to donate to the foodbank, you can drop off at St. Mary's foodbank during our opening hours above or by arrangement. Other donation points are:

Sainsbury's, Denton
