Safeguarding

The Church of England is committed to actively promoting a safer church.
The PCC of St Mary's Church, Marton in the Forest, has adopted the House of Bishops 'Promoting a Safer Church' safeguarding policy statement as an integral part of the life and ministry of the church.
The care and protection of children, young people, and adults involved in Church activities is the responsibility of everyone who participates in the life of the Church.

Marton Church's Parish Safeguarding Officer is Caroline Hunt and she can be contacted by email ([email protected]) or phone (01347 878242) or you can speak to our vicar, Rev Steve (01347 810251) or email him at [email protected]

If you are concerned that someone you know is at risk of, or is being abused, or presents a risk to others, please seek advice from our Parish Safeguarding Officer, our vicar, or a Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor https://dioceseofyork.org.uk/safeguarding or report the matter to the Local Authority Social Care Services. If you believe the matter is urgent please contact the Police without delay.

There is also a SAFEGUARDING tab at the top of the screen which will take you to guidance and information from the Church Of England including contact details for appropriate organisations.
