About Us

A beautiful 12th Century church with a rich history, which now serves a small rural community.
MARTON-CUM-MOXBY PARISH
For a short history of this attractive and unusual church please see our "Welcome Leaflet" and select 'History' from the menu on the left.

Marton Church is well cared for and is usually open daily as a haven for quiet meditation and spiritual refreshment. A board at the gate invites passers-by to "Find Peace and Tranquility within".

Services in the Celtic Tradition are usually held twice a month at 6pm* or at 3pm during the winter and spring to reduce the need for people to drive in the dark.

2nd Sunday in the month: A Reflective Meditative Service in the Celtic Tradition

4th Sunday in the month: A Celtic Communion

(*Please check the calendar of events for any seasonal changes or for updates)

Car parking is available in the field to the West of the churchyard (towards Stillington).
During services we try to reserve the layby outside the church for those with mobility issues.

The Church is one of five in the Forest of Galtres Benefice: Sheriff HuttonSuttonStillingtonFarlington & Marton.
The evening services at Marton attract a congregation from these local villages, and further afield.

Our vicar, the Reverend Stephen Whiting, can be contacted for pastoral matters on 01347 810251.
