We were pleased to welcome our friends from St. Mary’s Church, Embsay, North Yorkshire. We spent a lovely afternoon sharing learning about Eco Church. We discussed under pew heating and their plans to do the same. We had a walk around the churchyard and Quiet Garden looking at how we are promoting biodiversity. Embsay are one of the first churches in Yorkshire to be recognised by A Rocha with an Eco Church Gold Award.

1/10/23
Recent bats surveys have identified Pipistrelle and Soprano Pipistrelle bats in the churchyard. We now have boxes in various locations. This is part of our land management plan to encourage wildlife in Gods Acre. It is important that the roosts are not disturbed, and they have been located away from the main paths. Here's a link to the Bat Conservation Trust https://www.bats.org.uk/24/9/23
