A warm welcome is extended to you all as we come together this Holy Week and Easter to journey and worship through the season.
Palm Sunday sees our annual palm procession into church and we look forward to once again welcoming the Dunstall Donkeys to lead us. Meet at the Church Hall at 10:15. The service will follow our Second Sunday Service structure.
Maundy Thursday we come together for an agape shared meal (this will be provided) before sharing the eucharist and stripping the altar - remembering how Jesus spent the evening sharing his last supper with his friends. The supper and service will start at 19:00.
Good Friday includes the Good Friday service along with the William Key Sermon at 10:30, followed by the Walk of Witness with Barton and District Churches Together starting at Our Lady's Catholic Church on Wales Lane starting at 12:00.
Revd Andy will then be heading down to St Michael's at Tatenhill for 15:00, where a full reading of The Passion will take place at the foot of the cross. This will be followed by refreshments and hot cross buns kindly provided by The Horseshoe pub.
Easter Sunday we come together at 05:45 to witness the Easter Sunrise on Battlestead Hill.
We then meet at St Mary's Dunstall for the service of light at 08:40, with sausage rolls kindly provided by the Shilton family before. Easter Communion will take place at St Mary's starting at 09:00.
Easter Communion at St James' will start at 10:30 - we do hope that you can join us as we come together to celebrate the resurrection together.
Rev Andy will then finish off Easter Day with Easter Beer and Hymns at The Shoulder of Mutton, starting at 20:00.
We look forward to welcoming you and wish you a blessed and peaceful Easter season.
