Church of England Diocese of Chichester Donnington

St George's Donnington

Worshipping at St George's

We learned a lot during Lockdown as God breathed fresh life into our church and its worship.

We know that as we return  normal  it will look and feel very different to a pre-2020 world.

1. Our forms of worship. We experimented with new forms of worship via Zoom. Some say it has enabled them to get nearer to God; some say they missed the traditional liturgy; some missed the interaction of a church service whilst others remain concerned about mixing. So we will continue to experiment to get the the right mix that helps everyone to worship.

2. On the streets. We reached out in love to our community. The Donnington+Connected leaflets and communal events such as the Easter Fence of Hope were welcomed and proved popular. Our Foodbank and "George's" cafe (both of them active ministry in themselves) has put our Parish Hall as a village square in a place with no real meeting place. We will continue to take our faith to people through action.

Interested in these things?  Come and meet us at a service (details can be found in the Services and Events section of this site) or just pop by the Hall between 10 and 12 on a Saturday morning for a coffee .
