This is a group for parents or carers and pre-school age children, held in the Parish Room at St Mary's Church. Parents/carers can enjoy a chat and a cup of tea or coffee, while the children play. There will be playtime, singing, crafts and story-time for the children. This is during term-time only.

A weekly gathering to celebrate Communion with one another, where the wine is intincted onto the bread. We pass the peace through British Sign Language. All are welcome to come and receive at the Lord's Table.

Activities for all ages, adults and children, to enjoy our outside space, relating to the season. Dress appropriately for the weather. All children must have adult supervision.

Palm Sunday recalls the story of Jesus' entry into Jerusalem, greeted by people waving palm branches. It is a reminder for Christians to welcome Jesus into their hearts and to be willing to follow him.

Maundy Thursday is also called Holy Thursday. This is the day during Holy Week that commemorates the Washing of the Feet and Last Supper of Jesus Christ with the Apostles. It is the fifth day of Holy Week,and is followed by Good Friday. Maundy is derived from the Latin word for 'command,' and refers to Jesus' commandment to the disciples to "Love one another as I have loved you." We will be having a short reflective Communion service.

Good Friday, the Friday before Easter, is the Christian holy day to commemorate the crucifixion of Jesus and His death at Calvary. It is also known as Holy Friday, Great Friday, and Black Friday.For Christians, Good Friday is a crucial day of the year because it remembers the sacrifice that Jesus made for us all as he died on the cross. At St Mary's we will spend time considering the words that Jesus spoke as he hung on the cross and how they impact us today.

Easter Saturday Vigil. Marking the end of the emptiness of Holy Saturday, and leading into the celebration of Christ's resurrection, we will meet in a darkening churchyard, gather around a fire, then bring the light into the dark church, where we will light our own baptism or other candles & proclaim that Christ has beaten death. We remember the promises made at our baptisms with renewed commitment and proclaim the Easter Gospel.

Following the Book of Common Prayer, this short service with the Eucharist is a lovely and quiet start to Sundays and the month. We will hold this service on the first Sunday each month at 8am. All are welcome.

We start our service on this most joyful of days by marking the Paschal or Easter Candle, to remember the wounds Christ bore for us, the he is the Alpha & Omega, the Beginning and the End and that Jesus will always be the Light of the World. Our service will be one of joy and hope, as shown by the empty tomb on that first Easter morning.

Evensong is a service which is held at many cathedrals and churches that provides a restful, peaceful and contemplative time (about 30 to 45 minutes) at the even point of the day, between the end of the working day and night-time. It is for that reason Evensong is the perfect opportunity to relax after a busy day.

Come and join us for our annual Easter Egg Hunt at St Mary's Church North Mymms. Hunt for knitted Easter eggs in our churchyard. Find six and exchange them for a chocolate egg. There will be free juice for children and refreshments available to purchase.

Following the Easter Egg Hunt there will be activities until 4pm.

If there is inclement weather, we have a wet-weather plan in place for activities in the church.

This event is free but booking is essential. All children must be accompanied by an adult, but only children need tickets.
