About Us

Our Church

We celebrate the diversity and dignity of every person as a child of God. We are a church that welcomes and affirms all people, regardless of their background, identity or orientation. We are rooted in the Affirming Catholic - Anglican Tradition of the Church of England, and we strive to follow the example of Jesus in our worship and service.

Services

If you are looking for a rich and diverse Anglo-Catholic worship experience, you will find it at our church. Join us for our Choral Mass every Sunday, where we use incense to enhance our prayers. Or come to our Multimedia family Mass on Saturday evenings, where we use music and visuals to engage all ages. We also plan to resume our Sunday evening services soon, which can be either Choral Evensong or Celtic Evening prayer, both with Exposition and Benediction. We welcome you to worship with us in spirit and truth.

Accessibility

We have recently upgraded our facilities with a new entrance with level access on Stanhope Street through the gate in the railings between the church and 120 Stanhope Street leading to the cloister door. This has level wheelchair access and a wide door. Our main church and chapels are accessible, but our chancel has steps. Disables toilets bare also available. We have an induction loop; to receive sound from it, switch your hearing aid to the ‘T’ position. for more details see our accessibility page and for a plan of the church showing level access and wheelchair accessible toilets use this link .

Community

We are not only a church, but also a community partner. We collaborate with Ark St Alban’s Academy, where our vicar serves as a chaplain. We support Stanhope Wellbeing Hub and Highgate Community Support Limited, where we offer care and compassion to those in need and we administer the Highgate United Food Bank, where we provide food and essentials to the hungry and vulnerable.

Building

Our church is a stunning example of Victorian Gothic architecture, designed by the renowned John Loughborough Pearson in 1881 and listed as a Grade II* building. The stone vaulted ceiling creates a splendid visual effect and enhances the sound quality of our music and prayers.

We also have a hall that can be used for meetings and social events, as well as a kitchen and toilets

Music

Our church is blessed with amazing acoustics and a magnificent three manual organ that is well-kept and tuned. Our 10am Mass features a small choir that sings beautifully and harmoniously.
