New Rector for The Woburn Benefice.

Church_news
At the end of May last year Rev Canon Steve Nuth retired early, remaining incumbent until the end of June. Our Benefice has been on a journey through the formal interregnum process (vacancy period) and we now nearing the end of this.

All of the recruitment phases have now been completed which involved the following: Appointing parish representatives; Drafting individual parish profiles and collating them into one Benefice Profile (July to August 2022); Advertisements (August 2022); Applications (September 2022); Shortlisting (September 2022); Interviews (October 2022). Announcements in the Benefice Churches (October). Formal administration processes and notices continue in the background and parish representatives of each church remain in close consultation with the Archdeacon of Bedford.

New Rector for Woburn Benefice. The Woburn Benefice is set to welcome its new Rector in March. The Benefice of St Mary’s, Woburn; St John the Baptist, Eversholt; St Peter’s, Milton Bryan and St Peter and All Saints, Battlesden with Potsgrove are looking forward to the arrival of The Revd Dr Rachel Snow following her Licensing by the Bishop of Bedford at a service, at St. Mary's Woburn on 14th March, 7:30pm.

Rachel has recently finished serving her curacy at St Paul’s Letchworth with All Saints, Willian and St Mary’s, Old Letchworth. She holds a PhD in Immunology and worked in research at the University of Southampton. Before ordination, Rachel was a secondary science teacher. Rachel trained for ministry at St Mellitus College, and at St Mary's, Redbourn, and believes in the transforming power of God for individuals and their communities. Rachel is married to Derek and they have two grown up sons. In her spare time she enjoys cycling, walking their cavapoo Alfie, gardening and spending time with her family. Both Rachel and Derek are very excited to be coming to serve the parishes of the Benefice and are looking forward to living in such a beautiful part of the Diocese.

Churchwardens of the Benefice have recently been linked via email to Rachel for strictly "essential communications only" as we prepare to welcome Rachel and enter into a new season. Our new Incumbent, Rector to be, The Revd Dr Rachel Snow is still working full time in another role and serving her notice period which is to come to an end soon. We respect that Rachel needs time and space to be able to say goodbye within her current ministry and we pray for the sending churches as they prepare for a process of discernment themselves as Rachel and Derek follow God's call into the Woburn Benefice.
