Church of England Diocese of St.Albans Christ Church Waltham Cross

About Us

Welcome!

Christ Church is a friendly and inclusive church that welcomes people of all ages. We are a single congregation LEP (Local Ecumenical Partnership) which means we have members and ministers from both the Church of England and the Methodist Church and we worship and work together to share the good news of Jesus Christ. We are committed to support one another and to reach out into our local community and we meet together to worship God, to pray, to listen, to learn and to share fellowship.

Church to us is not about being preoccupied with rules and regulations – it’s about being part of a group of ordinary, fun –loving, generous, decent people who have committed their lives to God and try to share his love with those around us. Being part of Christ Church is like becoming part of a large family.

We consider that church, and the help we provide, is not a ‘members only’ club – but open to and available to everyone who needs it. Jesus didn’t ask if people were ‘in his gang’ before he broke bread with them or healed them, taught them or ministered to them… and neither do we.

When you come here you’ll find we try to be inclusive and relaxed; we have a variety of different sorts of services, but our main Sunday service is a traditional sung Eucharist with a robed choir.

At Christ Church nobody is ever expected to fit into a religious straight-jacket: we come in all shapes and sizes, personalities, traditions and backgrounds ….and you are welcome!
