St Peter’s Church Neatishead celebrates the completion of repairs to the churchyard walls and restoration of its 18th century bell and surrounding tower, which has taken 7 years to complete. Grateful thanks go to the generosity of our local community through donations, supporting fundraising events and a grant received from the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
There will be interesting displays by the Neatishead, Irstead and Barton Turf Community Heritage Group about St Peter’s and the changes that have taken place architecturally over the last few centuries together with a photographic display of recent events.
Refreshments available on both days.
There are over 400 gravestones, tablets and monuments in St Peter’s and its churchyard; all have been researched and documented. If you have ancestors buried or remembered there you will be able to find out more about your family history using the groups documentation, researched recently by Monica Riley.
