We had a fantastic time in April with lots of activities taking place throughout the month. We started with Mothering Sunday where we gave thanks for our mums and all of the special people in our lives. We had our annual Palm Sunday walk with real donkeys which is always great fun; this is an established and fun local tradition. On Good Friday we held a special service for children which included arts and crafts; the young people had lots of fun and learnt more about the true meaning of Easter. Upcoming Dates and Events for Sunday Club: Sunday 4th May, 9.30am at Neatishead Church. Sunday 18th May, 11am take-over of Neatishead Church! Sunday 1st June, 9.30am at Neatishead Church. All children are most welcome so please do come along, it is great fun. For more Sunday Club information: Revd Ben brother_ben@btinternet.com 01692 630216.
If so, Neatishead Church is on the lookout for new volunteers to help with the arrangements in the church. There is a team of six at the moment and we would like to recruit some more people. We each take on two weeks at a time and have a pedestal and two small vases which go behind the altar to arrange. At the moment the ‘duty’ comes round about three times a year and is on a rota basis, as well as help with the festivals: Easter, Harvest and Christmas. If you think you might like to ‘have a go’ then please get in touch with Jane on 01692 630249 or nicholas4567fowle@gmail.com. I am very happy to answer any questions you might have. We can give a little guidance if requested to set you on your way.
Thanks to the hard work of our church council members and friends of St Peter’s we are getting very close to achieving our aim of proceeding with the work required to keep our congregation, members of the public and our visitors safe (as per our architect’s inspection) but most importantly to keep our church OPEN! But we are not there yet. With your help over the coming months at our fundraising events, we are optimistic that this can be achieved in 2025. What can you do to help us in this final push for funds? Please support our cake stall at the NVH Easter Fair on Thursday 10th April. Get a team together for The White Horse Pub fundraising quiz on Wednesday 30th April. We welcome back Hexachordia, an early music trio, with ‘All in a Garden Green’ on Saturday 10th May, as they celebrate the joy of the English garden in music, song and verse, tracing its history from monastic herb gardens to more formal grounds. More details next month. Your support would be much appreciated. Thank you. Pauline Simpson Churchwarden
Do you know someone who used to go to church but who is no longer able to attend? Are you or do you know someone who would like to receive Holy Communion at home?Have you recently lost a loved one and would appreciate some extra support?Or perhaps you are just feeling a bit lonely and would like someone to talk to?Our newly launched pastoral care team can help with all of this and much more. The pastoral care team is led by the rector and is made up of trained members of our church congregations, who have completed the necessary safeguarding checks. The team is there to provide extra support to our communities, to ensure that no one is forgotten about, and to show the Love of Christ to all people. If you would like a visit from the pastoral care team or if you know someone who you think would value a visit, please do get in touch.Revd Ben 01692 630216
