The day promised to be wet and cold, it was cold but thankfully the rain held off and the temperature did not put people off from visiting the wonderful display of tulips grown by Louis and Fran Baugh at Neatishead Hall and those that provided the tent, plants, lunches, cakes and tombola at The Paddock. Thank you so much to all who helped and came along, which resulted in the magnificent sum realised at just over £1,100. St Peter’s Church has to raise so much money, for urgent repairs as well as just the day to day running expenses, that this amount is so appreciated. Thankyou. Nick & Jane Fowle plus the team
On Sunday 7th April Revd Ben Bradshaw dedicated a Mothers’ Union banner at a service at St Peter’s Church. This original Mothers’ Unionbanner was located by Celia Scott at Norwich Cathedral’s Diocesan Office at Easton in 2015. It was in a very sorry state. Taking advice from MariaJordan, an expert in textile conservation through her work with the Historic Royal Palaces and the National Trust, Monica Riley, a local resident, undertook to stabilize the fragile material. It was then professionally framed and following advice from the Diocese, the banner has been presented to, and hung at, St Peter’s Church in Neatisheadcourtesy of John and Monica Riley, both Friends ofSt Peter’s Church. The PCC presented Monica and John with a small gift to thank them for their generosity and particularly to Monica for her dedication in restoring the banner so beautifully. On behalf of the Children's Society, thank you to those who attended the Crib Service at St Michael's Church Irstead and also at St Michael and All Angels for the Christingle Service, for the amazing, combined donation of £393.

St Peter’s Church Schoolroom requires some bright curtains as it is transformed into a venue for our new Sunday Club. Does anyone have any brightly coloured material in their craft box, or curtains no longer used that can brighten up the schoolroom to make it welcoming and cheerful for children and young people? If we can obtain a suitable fabric, do you have the necessary skills to make the curtains on our behalf? Our PCC members would be very grateful for your help. Please contact me for further details.
