Church of England Diocese of Southwark Southwark, St. George the Martyr with St. Alphege and St. Jude

St George's, Borough High Street

Welcome to St George the Martyr with St Alphege and St Jude, better known as just  St George's. We are an inclusive, welcoming, liberal Anglo-Catholic church based on borough high street at the junction of the old Dover road and the old Southampton road. An ancient parish with history stretching back beyond the domesday book, we aim to be a hub for our local community, providing a sanctuary of tranquil space in our church and an active community programme in our crypt. If you are looking for a new Church home in South London or just passing through, you are most welcome here at St George's.

The parish is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Southwark’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services
