Johan has been coming to church at Gingins since he was a wee lad! And now, nearly 18, he is a Youth Helper and has been of invaluable support on the IT side of our online services. Here he tells us of his experience of work during 'lockdown', his holidays, his experience of Youth Alpha and in helping Emily with SAS.
Helen & her family attend services at Gingins and Helen is training to be a Reader. Nicky is an active member of SAS (10-14s). We are treated to an insight into their family life in lockdown, where cucumbers and home-made beer and cookies made up (almost) for a holiday in Florida, where adjustments had to be made in family life, and how the blessings of virtual church gatherings and a CCC weekend away inspired the reminder that God really is in all things - yesterday, today and in the future.

This week we hear from John Haines, in a written account attached.John attends Divonne church, both the French Protestant and La Côte Anglican services, so provides a valuable link between the two churches. In his fascinating account, we find out what John does, for even in 'retirement' he is as busy as ever and would normally be travelling a good part of the time. So how has Covid-19 affected him? Living on his own and cut off from his friends, family and his passion for opera and music festivals, he finds time to reflect, appreciate the online services and get to know his neighbours better. He shares his serious concern for the longer-term consequences of the virus and encourages us, as Christians, to be actively involved and, above all, to pray.
