This course is published by the Pastoral Advisory Group of the Church of England. The description of the course says ‘As communities of Christians we are held together in the love of Christ. Our many differences are gifts that can build us up in trust and mutual affection … or they can mar the image of Christ that we are called to reflect through our life together.' Forest Church

Occurring
Monthly. Every Second Sunday at for 1 hour
Venue
St Luke's, Countess Wear
Address
St Luke's, Countess Wear, Countess Wear Road Exeter, EX2 6LG, United Kingdom

Forest Church offers a time for families to explore faith together. There is a dramatised Bible Story, in which children and adults take part, followed by activities inside and outside, related to the story. We then come together again for a time of reflection, a prayer and a song. We have moved around to different venues over the last few months but are hoping to return to the wooded area of Countess Wear School where we originally started, when the school have finished their building work. We are currently using St Luke's Church and the church rooms as our venue.

Julian Meeting

Occurring
Monthly. Every Second Monday at for 1 hour
Venue
St Margaret's Church, Topsham
Address
St Margaret’s Church 57 Fore Street, Topsham EX3 0HL, EX3 0HL, United Kingdom

On the second Monday of the month at 2.30 pm

Julian meetings are held all over the world to foster the practice and teaching of meditation and contemplative prayer within the Christian tradition.

It is a chance to still oneself from the busyness of life, to enter into deep silence, stillness. Many people repeat a word quietly to centre their prayer and as the mind may wander, come back to the word.

We start with music to steady our thoughts. This leads us into our 40 minutes of silence and then music once again to lead us out from the depths of stillness. We then finish with tea and cake and chat.

If you would like to come along and give it a go, you can be sure of a very warm welcome as we enter silence together. We look forward to meeting you.

If this has stirred your curiosity about contemplative prayer, Mother Julian of Norwich, or you would like to find out more then please do not hesitate to contact Revd Louise Grace..
