Church Fête 2026: An appeal from the Church Fête Committee:

Join Us for a Weekend of Community Fun and Activities

Church Fête and Duck Race

The Church Fête will take place on Saturday, 20 June. The festivities continue with the Duck Race on Sunday, 21 June, providing conditions are suitable.

Getting Involved

There are opportunities to help with the fête at all levels. Whether you are interested in contributing new ideas, supporting traditional activities, or assisting with practical tasks, your involvement is welcome.

Fresh Ideas and Events

  • We encourage suggestions for new stalls and events, as well as revitalising traditional favourites. Since there won't be a Morris Dancing team this year, we're open to alternatives—perhaps a musical performance. Drayton St Leonard boasts considerable musical talent, so this could be a chance to launch a new act. If you're interested, let our musical director know what equipment you'll need and take the stage!

Hard Work and Practical Support

  • While the marquees are erected by an experienced team, anyone can help with dismantling them at the end of the fête. Learn how the various poles and canvas fit together and how to fold everything up neatly.
  • If you have access to a flat-bed truck, your help would be invaluable in transporting tables, chairs, crockery and cutlery, even bins, between the village hall and the fête, or even from the Museum.

Keeping Traditions Alive and Moving Forward

We aim to bring the fête into the 21st century while maintaining its traditional character. Events need people to run them, so please get in touch if you can help.

Sponsorship Opportunities

Consider sponsoring an event or supporting one that needs help. Speak to our coordinator if you are interested in sponsoring a new activity or contributing to an existing one.
