Coxley Church is holding another enjoyable quiz evening in Coxley Memorial Hall with a general knowledge quiz and lots of tasty puddings! Teams are made up of 6 people, but it doesn’t matter if you’re not already in a team, as we can put you into one. Email [email protected] or phone 01749 679612 to book your place. Tickets are £12 per person, paid in cash on the door, with the money going to Christ Church Coxley, towards the work and maintenance of the church. Hot drinks are provided but bring your own other drinks with you.

St Matthew's, Wookey

Welcome to our page on A Church Near You!

St Matthew's Church is a beautiful church in the village of Wookey, near Wells. We are part of a group of 3 churches and 4 parishes, known as a benefice, which are looked after by Revd Jan Shellard-James.

There is a weekly Holy Communion service which is held every Wednesday. 

On the 1st Sunday of the month, there is a Holy Communion without hymns, known as Quiet Holy Communion. 

On the 2nd Sunday of the month, there is an informal morning worship with hymns, which is called Inspire.

On the 3rd Sunday of the month, we all join together to worship, and the location of services is rotated between the three churches in the benefice. 

On the 4th Sunday of the month there is Holy Communion.

If there's a 5th Sunday in a month, this is also a joint service, and rotated between the three churches in the benefice.
