An informal community choir, open to anyone: retired people, people living with memory difficulty and their carers, and anyone on a lunch break. We sing songs from the shows, folk and pop songs and favourite hymns. There is a free bowl of soup afterwards. No charge and no audition. We break during the school holidays.

Our director of music, Max Barley, won the Chelsea Awards Community Hero prize in 2023 for founding it.

Holy Trinity Sloane Square

Worship is at the heart of everything here. Holy Trinity is the parish church of Upper Chelsea, two minutes from Sloane Square, and everyone is welcome at every service. There is no need to tell us you are coming.

Our services:

  • Sunday, 11am, Choral Eucharist. A traditional sung mass with incense, sung by Holy Trinity Choir. Junior Church meets alongside for children, and tea, coffee and biscuits are served afterwards.
  • Sunday, 6pm, Choral Evensong and Benediction, in the traditional language of the Book of Common Prayer. Sherry afterwards. Evensong pauses over the summer and returns at the start of September.
  • Wednesday, 6.30pm, a short said Eucharist in the Lady Chapel.
  • Monday to Friday, 10am to 5pm, the church is open for prayer and for visitors.

Through the week:

  • Songs and Soup, Tuesdays at 1pm. An informal community choir in the Parish Room for anyone who wants to sing, with a free bowl of soup afterwards. No charge and no audition.
  • Holy Trinity Children's Choir, Tuesdays at 4pm. Free, and open to any child aged 6 to 13 who loves to sing.
  • Junior Church, every Sunday morning alongside the Choral Eucharist.

The building is worth the visit in its own right. Sir John Betjeman called Holy Trinity the Cathedral of the Arts and Crafts Movement. John Dando Sedding designed it, and the great east window was made by Morris & Company to a design by Edward Burne-Jones, the largest window the firm ever made. Come to pray, to hear the choir, or simply to look round.
