Easter Sunrise Gathering

Occurring
Sunday 05 April 2026 Sunday at for 1 hour
Venue
St Mary's Church, Marton in the Forest
Address
Farlington Road Marton in the Forest York, YO61 1NH, YO61 1NH, United Kingdom

A quiet get-together to watch the sunrise on Easter morning (weather permitting!) Hoping for clear skies, we plan to gather outside in the churchyard any time from 6am onwards to quietly watch the sun rise at around 6.25am. Moving inside for a hot drink and festive snack, we'll wait for the sun to shine through the east window (above the altar). About an hour later the sun will be high enough to shine through the little Victorian light in the eaves, casting a rainbow of colours onto the church floor. Please do dress warmly including appropriate waterproof footwear! All very welcome.
