SAFEGUARDING

"The parish of Syleham: St Margaret is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer, PSO. The Diocese of St.Edmundsbury & Ipswich’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services."

Syleham PCC takes seriously its responsibility for the care and protection of children, young people and vulnerable adults involved in Church activities and has adopted the House of Bishops' policy "Promoting a Safer Church".   The PCC accepts that everyone who participates in the life of the Church has a role to play in promoting a Safer Church for all.  A copy of the policy is displayed in the church porch.

The Benefice Safeguarding Officer is Jill Peters  [email protected]  01379 384988.
