MESSY CHURCH

Messy Church is for families of all the parishes in the Hoxne Benefice and is normally held on the first Sunday of every month in the Village Hall in Syleham (IP21 4LT) with good facilities and parking.  All are most welcome but, although we follow safeguarding guidelines,  children must bring an adult.

The session starts at 4pm and there are imaginative craft activities with story, song and prayers - all based around a Bible theme. There are plenty of opportunities for families to chat - and we always finish with a 'scrummy' tea for all at around 5-5.15pm!

We now have a WhatsApp group for Messy Church families, so that you can have regular updates: please just let us know if you would like to be included.

We currently cater for younger children but are beginning to offer occasional craft activities for older children through newly formed  Club Create.   Please contact us if this would be of interest:  there is a separate WhatsApp group available for this.

We grew during Covid-19!

As we were unable to meet as usual, Messy Church moved to Facebook, with a presentation video available from 2pm on the first Sunday of the month. Simple craft and prayer ideas were shared, based on a Bible story and packs of materials were delivered to a good number of families.

In the summer of 2021 we had two very successful outdoor meetings (a  bug hunting/bug hotel building session in Syleham Churchyard, and a sports session on J's Meadow, both with a picnic tea.)

From 5th September 2021, we have been back in the Village Hall and the start time of 4pm.  All most welcome.

August Messy Church - Sunday 6th  at 4pm.  Games and a picnic tea on J's Meadow, opposite the Village Hall.

September Messy Church - Sunday 3rd at 4pm. A Messy Harvest Festival  in St Margret's Church, with tea provided as usual
