Occurring
for 1 hour, 15 mins
Venue
St George the Martyr, Borough High Street
Address
Borough High Street Southwark London, SE1 1JA, United Kingdom

Join us at St George the Martyr as we remember those we love but see no longer.

All Souls' Day is a time to remember those who have died, to give thanks for their lives and to entrust them to the everlasting love of God.

Our Choral Requiem is an opportunity to bring our grief and gratitude before God. Through beautiful choral music, candlelight, silence and the celebration of the Mass, we hold those we have lost in prayer, in the hope of Christ's resurrection.

The service will be sung by the our own quartet of professional singers in the beautiful surroundings of our historic church in the heart of Southwark.

During the service, there will be an opportunity for the names of departed loved ones to be remembered in prayer.

Whether your loss is recent or many years ago, whether you are familiar with church or have not been for a long time, you are warmly welcome.

Come with friends or family, or simply come as you are.

May they rest in peace and rise in glory.

St George the Martyr, Borough High Street

St George’s is a welcoming, vibrant world-diverse, inclusive church. We worship in the catholic tradition of the Church of England and the Mass or Eucharist is central to our identity. We have deep roots in tradition and deep roots in our neighbourhood: beautiful worship is our aim, yet this is never at the expense of being real about who and where we are. We are reverent but unfussy, serious about the sacred mysteries but with smiles on our faces and laughter in our bellies.

The Liturgy (the structure of the service) has been passed down to us and we receive it as a gift that holds and sustains us in all of our mess, unbelief, reverence and longing. We have a rhythm to our worship, a pattern that keeps us rooted in the mysteries of faith no matter what is going on for us personally or collectively.

Don’t worry if you feel like you don’t know what to do in a church service. Come as you are, sit, stand, kneel as you wish and just go with the flow, there is no judgement here. Come and feel at home in the conscious presence of God.
