St Bart's Cafe Church -ON HOLD
Westwood Hill
Sydenham
London
CURRENTLY ON HOLD - will (hopefully) return in 2022
1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month.
Coffee, cake and Jesus?!
An informal service, sat around coffee tables with drinks and home-made cakes. Though relaxed and informal, the service includes (interactive) prayer and praise plus conversation and discussion of the Bible reading for the weekend.
Not sure about church, but would like to discuss faith rather than hear someone preach? Maybe this is for you.
(While all are welcome, the format of this service means it is best suited to those over 16 years.)
Holy Communion
Westwood Hill
Sydenham
London
A simple, quiet service using the traditional language and order from the Revised Book of Common Prayer (Common Worship Order 2.)
Parish Eucharist
Westwood Hill
Sydenham
London
The heart of our life and worship. We meet with Jesus through the Scriptures, through our fellowship and as the Lord comes to meet us in the bread and wine of Holy Communion.
We share our concerns with God in prayer, we listen for God's voice in the readings from the bible and a sermon and we gather as the people of God around the altar.
Music is an important part of our worship, led by our choristers, singers and young singers, fine organ and piano.
The form of service (the 'liturgy') follows contemporary Church of England patterns.
All ages are warmly welcome at St Bartholomew's. Children are always welcome in the service; there are some simple activities available for younger children for use while sitting with their families, and on the fourth Sunday of each month the prayers, sermon and other parts of the service are especially chosen with all ages in mind.
All are welcome!
