Week of Prayer for Christian Unity

Occuring
for 1 hour, 30 mins
Venue
St Margaret's Church, Topsham
Address
St Margaret’s Church 57 Fore Street, Topsham EX3 0HL, EX3 0HL, United Kingdom

It is a tradition that Christians come together worldwide in January to mark a Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, a week celebrated in Topsham over many years. Sadly, Covid pandemic restrictions put a stop to that tradition in 2021 but St Margaret's Parish Church, Holy Cross Catholic Church and St Nicholas Methodist Church will be meeting together, both online and in person, in 2022 to re-ignite our shared beliefs in the Christian gospel. Do join us.

As in past years, the Week is held between 18 and 25 January and this year adopts the theme of 'We Saw His Star in the East …', based around the familiar story of the Magi visiting the Holy Family in Bethlehem. The resources supporting the Week have been prepared by churches in the Middle East, the history of which was, and still is, characterized by conflict and strife, tainted with blood and darkened by injustice and oppression.

During the whole of the WPCU, the Revd Paul Collings, Minister at St Nicholas Methodist Church, will focus his daily email devotions on the WPCU booklet's material and share them via the St Nicholas website (https://st-nicholas-methodist.blogspot.com/).

St Margaret's Church, Topsham

A very warm welcome to you.

The churches of St Margaret's Topsham and St Luke's Countess Wear work together with our Vicar Revd Louise Grace and leadership team to outreach to both areas. Our mission values spring forth from the two great commandments, to Love God and to love our neighbours as ourselves. We aspire to be faithful in worship and prayer, whilst outward looking in service to our communities. Our charism is to be inclusive and generous in spirit and hospitality. Did anyone say cake?

We hope you will find these webpages helpful and inspiring. Find information about our services and other events, music; news and notices; provision for families; prayer ideas; a Daily Reflection each day; Zoom links to join our online services; a donations page to allow you to make donations easily online; opportunities to volunteer, and lots more news about the church and how to contact us.

There are several pages to look at on the left-hand side of the screen. In some cases, a section contains more than one page, so remember to scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the arrow in order to navigate to the next page.

We hope to see you at our services and other events. Everyone is very welcome. And please do get in touch if you need any spiritual or pastoral support, or someone to pray with or for you, or simply just a listening ear.

Blessings and warmest wishes to all.
