Bishop Philip North (the Bishop of Blackburn) will be leading a Confirmation Service at St Matthew’s in March 2026. This will be an opportunity for both adults and children (in school year 6 and above) to get confirmed).
Confirmation is an opportunity to publicly affirm your faith in Jesus Christ. During the Confirmation Service the bishop will lay hands on each candidate and pray for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit.
Before getting confirmed candidates prepare themselves by meeting with others to discuss the key beliefs of the Christian faith. Preparation sessions will take place in January and February next year.
