Blue Flamingo was established in November 2021 in response to the need in our community to help those living with dementia, and their carers. The cafe is led by Erin Singleton, supported by 12 volunteers. Blue Flamingo offers two sessions per month, as well as day trips and additional sessions which focus on supporting carers. Collaborations have been established with local artists and organisations, such as Dig In, to provide workshops for its members.

Music is regularly offered, as are games and activities. Preston Community Transport provides transport for some people who would otherwise be unable to attend the cafe. An average of 30 people visit the cafe each session. Links have been made with Lancashire County Council, Alzheimer's Society, Age Concern, AgeUK Lancashire, Lancashire Carers Service and Lancashire Dementia.
