St Mary the Blessed Virgin
While our church building may be closed, we are still an active worshipping community. There are a variety of ways in which you can join us in this worship and we hope you will take part in some of our services.
Where to find us
We have begun a new phone line which you can ring at any time to listen to a service. The number to call is 01274 505150. This is a local number and you will be charged accordingly; if you have free calls to local numbers this will be a free call. Between 12 midnight and 1pm you will find Reverend Karen reading her parish magazine article; from 1pm until 6pm you can hear Sunday’s Gospel reading and sermon; between 6pm and 9pm Monday to Friday, the phone line will play our Psalm at 6 service; then from 9pm until midnight you will be able to hear our Compline, or Night Prayer, service. Please note, there is a slight pause between the greeting and the service beginning.
Here on our website we have a host of information and links to all our services, audio and video, plus resources for worship at home. Please take the time to look at our services and News and Notices section.
On our YouTube channel, Watch and Pray, you can find all our video content, past and present. Please click on subscribe and press the bell symbol to be notified when new videos are released.
Please also look at our Facebook page, St. Mary’s Church, Gomersal where you will find our videos, links to our audio recording of Compline and other bits and pieces.
What we’re doing
We offer our video Psalm at 6 each weekday at around 6pm.
Our audio recording of Compline is available every day from 8pm.
Our video Sunday service is online from around 10am each Sunday.
We also host a service of Prayer During the Day on Zoom at 12 noon each Sunday. Please get in touch if you would like to be notified of the Meeting ID and Password for this.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and we look forward to seeing you soon digitally, and, further in the future, physically.
The parish of Gomersal: St Mary is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Leeds’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs.
